Merrylands Amateur Swimming Club has recognised another outstanding contributor to its proud history, with Alison Johnston formally presented with a place on the club’s Representative Wall at the club’s presentation evening on Saturday night.
The Representative Wall recognises swimmers who have delivered results across Area, Metropolitan, State and National competition over an extended period. It highlights those whose performances — including championships, records, medals and finalist finishes — distinguish them through sustained success at multiple levels.
Since first competing at Metropolitan Championships in 2015, Alison has represented Merrylands across Metropolitan, State Age and State Open competition for more than a decade.
At the Metro South West Championships, she has won 13 medals across multiple seasons, including an Area Championship title.
At State level, she competed at State Age, recording two finalist performances in the 50‑metre freestyle, and at six State Open Championships — the highest level of competition in New South Wales.
Her success has extended to Masters swimming, where she has competed at 12 Australian Masters Championships — the most by any swimmer from the club — earning 62 national medals, including 12 national titles.
At International level, Alison has represented Merrylands at four World Aquatics Masters Championships, also a club record, highlighted by a bronze medal in the 200m Butterfly at the 2023 championships.
Merrylands Amateur Swimming Club is proud to recognise Alison’s achievements and welcome her to the Representative Wall.
