Merrylands' team of 8 swimmers won 2 medals and were finalists in 15 events at the Metro South West Area Open & Age Short Course
Championships at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre on Saturday 24th & Sunday 25th May, 2014.
Steven Nguyen received a silver medal in the Men’s 17 & Over 50m Breaststroke and Kristie Caplikas came third in the Girls 11yrs 100m Butterfly. Reece Tomkinson achieved qualifying times for the Metropolitan Short Course Championships in the Boy’s 13yrs 100 Backstroke and the 100 Freestyle.
Our swimmers were entered in a total of 33 individual events and achieved personal best times in 20 of their swims.
This was a fantastic outcome and Head Coach, Peter Johnston, was very pleased with the team’s results.
