Kayla Hine was presented with the Champion of Champions trophy at the club’s annual Presentation Evening on Saturday night.

It was a close finish in the competition, with only 67 points between the top 3 swimmers. Kayla earned many points for her performances at representative meets and as the Senior Wonmens and Open Womens Champion in the club championships. Alison Johnston finished 2nd, having broken 3 club records during the season, while Dyana Crabb was 3rd, scoring a large number of points throughout the season at club races, representative meets and also as a finalist at the NSW State Age Championships for 200m Butterfly.

The night kicked off with the Pointscore trophies, where some of our newest (and smallest) members were awarded their first trophy. Ben Crabb was the Boys and Overall Pointscore Champion with an impressive 288 points, followed by Dyana Crabb who won the Girls Pointscore. The Boy and Girl runners up were also a family affair with Elijah and Tatiana Seruvatu taking home 2nd place. In the Senior Pointscore, Alison and Ian Johnston took home the trophies.

In the Relay competition, the "Young Guns", consisting of Hayley Baker, Benjamin and Dyana Crabb, Steven Nguyen, Tatiana Seruvatu and Emily Tovkach took home the trophy. Whilst all the team members were visibly excited to win this prestigious award, especially as it came down to the last week and a margin of just one point, none were more smug than Steven who could not wipe smile from his face for the rest of the evening.

Glenda Wood took home the hotly contested Senior Handicap award. The Learn to Swim Award, which is presented to a Club Member who is voted by their peers for assisting with the club’s LTS program, was awarded to Emily Tovkach.

Three members of the club’s swimming squads were recognised for their efforts at training over the past season, consistently doing their best, listening to their coach and having positive attitude towards their training. Congratulations to Calvin Jo, Felix Lo and Graham Edwards who all received a club beanie.

Margaret Edwards and Amanda Smart presented the Jack Smart Encouragement Award to the beaming Daniel Vicic. This award is in memory of Life Member, Jack Smart and is presented to a junior swimmer for consistent improvement through the season, starting at 25m and progressing to longer distances.

Gladys Pye presented the Jim Pye Development Award or “Minties” Trophy, which is in memory of Life Member, Jim Pye. The award is presented to a junior swimmer who has swum consistently over the season, steadily improving and representing the club at various swimming meets. Charlie-Rose El Riachi was the well-deserved recipient of this award.

The Lions Award, which is presented to a club member in recognition of their services to the club over the past season, was a tie this year and was awarded to Peter and Alison Johnston.

Thank you to all the people who helped organise the presentation and all who helped throughout the season.

You can find the full list of other awards presented on the night in the Presentation section.
