Five swimmers represented Merrylands at the Metro South West Open Water Championships at the Sydney International Regatta Centre this morning.

Sophia Vicic swam the 5km event for the first time and did a great job to qualify for the 5km event at the NSW State Open Water Championships in December. Also in the 5km, Alison Johnston swam a new personal best time, taking 7 minutes off her previous best.

In the 2.5km JX Event, Dyana Crabb finished in 3rd place overall, almost 1 minute faster than her previous best time. Ben Crabb also swam a new PB, beating his previous best by 3 minutes.

Well done to all our swimmers on their results, especially Michael Evans who was swimming in his first Open Water meet.
