Merrylands' team of 11 swimmers swam extremely well at the Speedo Sprint Series Heats today, with new
personal best times swum in 30 out of 33 events, and every swimmer achieving at least one new personal best time.
Reece Tomkinson also qualified for the Series Finals in the 11yrs Boys 50m Backstroke. Reece will is our first finalist since Stephanie Hindle swam at the finals in 2010.
For 6 of the swimmers this was their first Speedo Sprint Series and for many, their first swimming meet. Despite this, they managed to overcome their nerves and put
into practice what they have been learning at training and club over the past months to take huge
chunks of time off their PBs.
