Peter Johnston was announced as the 2013 Masters Swimming Australia Coach of the Year Award at the Masters Swimming Australia Presentation Dinner in Rockhampton
last night.
The award follows the announcement of Peter as the 2013 Masters Swimming NSW Coach of the Year at the State Championships earlier this month.
Masters Swimming NSW secretly gathered background information for Peter's nomination, about the impact that he has had on the Club since
he became the Head Coach. They also gathered local newspaper articles promoting Masters through coaching at a community level and quite
a few testimonials on his coaching ability, innovation, style and successes during the year.
The National Coaching Committee assess the nominees for Masters Swimming Australia and they were particularly impressed with Peter's
demonstrated success in encouraging swimmers to compete at a National and State level and the annual program developed around these
events.
