Brittany Johnson has finished this weekend's NSW Metropolitan Short Course Championships with seven new personal best times from six events.

Brittany started the meet in style with two PBs in her first event - the 16yrs & Over 100m Breaststroke. At the end of the first 50m, she had taken 1.11 seconds off her 50m Breaststroke PB, turning in 36.90. By the end of the second 50m she had taken 1.58 off her 100m PB to finish 14th in 1:18.59 - her first time under 1:20. Brittany's second event at the meet was the 200m Individual Medley where she swam another PB, this time taking 4.76 seconds off to finish in 2:28.09.

Brittany returned this morning for her final four events of the meet. Her first event today was the 100m Individual Medley and despite having swum a new personal best time only 1 month ago, Brittany managed to shave 0.08 seconds off her time for her 4th PB of the meet. Next up was the 100m Butterfly and Brittany dominated her heat to win it by over a body length. She finished 13th overall in another personal best time of 1:05.94, 2.64 seconds faster than her previous best.

At the Metro South West Championships in June, Brittany had taken 0.81 seconds off her 50m Freestyle time so it was going to be a challenge to try and break her time again so soon. She almost did it, equalling her PB of 28.48. Brittany's final event of the meet, the 100m Freestyle, was a different story though. At the 50m mark, Brittany turned in 29.26 - a time that would have been a 50m PB less than a month ago. She kept up the pace in the second 50m to touch in 1:00.90, breaking her previous best time by 0.43 seconds.

Congratulations to Brittany on her excellent swims and results. Photos from the meet are available here.
