Merrylands swimmers won medals in 6 events and were finalists in another 19 at the Metro South West Championships on the weekend.

Our team of 16 swimmers also swam 57 new personal best times at the meet.

Kayla Hine took home 2 silver medals, finishing 2nd in the 17yrs & Over 50m Breaststroke and the Open 100m Breaststroke.

Dyana Crabb won silver in the 11yrs 200m Individual Medley, taking 2.65 seconds off her personal best time to finish in 2:51.77. Dyana also won bronze in the 11yrs 100m Freestyle.

Alison Johnston took home silver in the Open 50m Freestyle in a field of 126 swimmers. Alison also took home a bronze medal in the 17yrs & Over 50m Freestyle in a new personal best time of 28.51.

Tatiana Seruvatu, Michael Evans, Summer Shrestha, Steven Nguyen and Matthew Vicic all picked up finalist ribbons at the meet.

Our club's results at the meet make it our most sucessful Area Championships since 2009. Congratulations to our whole team on their results.
